giving out, putting out, exposing yourself, or itself and then taking the fallout as it comes. if there is any. hope there is some. a pitter patter at the very least.
‘Great art helps to develop thinking,
imagination and understanding.
Artists translate nature, our
environment and our lives into
what we see in our galleries, theatres
and concert halls, adding depth
and helping us to appreciate the
value of our existence. But unlike
with medicine, you cannot see the
immediate result.’- Valery Gergiev from The London Symphony Orchestra.
Can someone else help us to 'appreciate the value of our existence'? I reckon so. But an institution? Yeah, probably, but being spoonfed it is problematic, hence criticism, but who needs to be told how not to like/or to like something? - for those who want to intellectualize the act of appreciating life?
and bad art....? the value of our existence eh? EH? what does that mean? our inter-connectivity?
Walt Whitman - looks to the future. Zoƫ Living. Eros. Generosity.
Ezra Pound - looks to the past. Logos. Cynicism. Protestant work ethic.
